Our ALASKA Sauna

The ALASKA is a stylish garden sauna designed for comfort, quality, and easy installation. Its clever design provides a relaxing experience for up to four people, making it perfect for families or small groups.

You don’t need any major groundwork to install it — just place it in your garden and enjoy. The easy self-assembly process, supported by clear instructions, allows you to set it up quickly and start relaxing in no time.

Its modern cube shape and thermowood construction make it both durable and visually elegant, while the thermo-aspen benches provide lasting comfort and style. The sauna is also compatible with a wide range of wall-mounted heaters, and includes a thermal cover for safe and efficient installation.

Thermal Pine is heat-treated to enhance its strength and weather resistance, making it ideal for outdoor saunas. This process removes most of the resin, preventing sap leakage even at high temperatures, and greatly increases stability — reducing the risk of warping or deformation caused by moisture.

Intallation & Electrical Information

Sauna Base

You can either install a base yourself or by a professional following our guide below. A base is required due to the weight of the sauna and avoids your sauna from sinking over time.

Base Installation Guide

Self-assembly instructions will be provided. We highly recommend you hire a professional carpenter and/ or joiner for your flatpack sauna build.

Electrical

Domestic sauna heaters in the UK usually require a dedicated single-phase 230V supply, similar to an electric shower or cooker, and installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. The current draw depends on the heater’s kW rating and can be estimated using watts ÷ volts = amps (for example, 6 kW ≈ 26 A). Smaller heaters around 2–3.6 kW typically need 10–15 A with 1.5–2.5 mm² cable, while larger units from 4.5–9 kW may draw 19–40 A and require 2.5–6 mm² or heavier cabling depending on the run length. For more information, please check our guide below.

Can I assemble the sauna myself?

Yes, you can assemble the sauna yourself and they've been deisgned for self-assembly. However, we strongly recommend having a qualified carpenter, builder or joiner to assist you, especially if you don’t have prior experience with woodwork or construction.

The assembly manual is comprehensive and user-friendly for those familiar with building, but without that background, the process can be challenging and time-consuming. Most customers choose professional installation for peace of mind and to ensure the sauna is assembled correctly.

Important: Incorrect assembly or not following the manual may void your warranty. If you’re unsure, we recommend professional installation.

What type of base do I need?

Your sauna base must meet two key requirements:

It must be completely level.

It must support the full weight of the sauna and users.

Most saunas bases must be able to withstand twice the weight og the sauna itself. For example, when laying a base for saunas weighing above 400 kg, plan for an additional 400 kg for occupants — a total of around 1,000 kg+. Suitable base materials include concrete, patio decking, tiles, or asphalt — as long as the surface is flat and stable.

Check out our guide on different sauna bases here and we strongly advise you to hire a professional.

Avoid installing the sauna on a slope or in an area prone to water pooling.

What maintenance is required after assembly?

After assembly, the sauna should be treated both inside and out as soon as possible. This protects the wood and is required to validate your warranty.

Painting the sauna bench is optional but recommended. Use a breathable, oil-based treatment such as Tikkurila Supi Sauna Finish.

If Tikkurila products are unavailable, Osmo Oil is an excellent alternative. Both can be ordered from B&Q.

What are the running costs?

A traditional home sauna usually uses a 3 to 9 kW electric heater and costs around £0.10 to £0.30 per kWh in the UK. This means running costs range from about £0.30 per hour for a 3 kW heater to £0.90 per hour for a 9 kW heater. Preheating typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, which adds to the overall cost depending on how often and how long the sauna is used.

Infrared saunas are highly energy-efficient. On average, running a SaunaSupply sauna costs between £0.08 to £0.40 per hour, depending on the model size, local electricity rates, and how often it's used. For example, a standard 2-person sauna using a 1.5–2.0 kW heater may cost around £2 to £4 per month if used 3–4 times per week. This makes it a very economical option for regular at-home wellness.

What maintenance is required if I buy a pre-assembled sauna?

None. Pre-assembled saunas are fully treated at the factory before shipping.

Can I paint the sauna a different colour?

Yes. You can paint your sauna any colour, as long as you use a breathable wood treatment.

Do I need a three-phase power supply?

No, a three-phase supply is not required.

However, a qualified electrician must connect your heater to your power supply, and an isolator switch is required at minimum.
